CONCORD, N.C. (Dec. 12, 2016) - Speedway Motorsports, Inc. (NYSE:TRK) has promoted Performance Racing Network Vice President of Sales Gerry Horn to Senior Vice President of Sales for the SMI-owned radio network.
Horn, a Rhode Island native who joined PRN in March of 2002, holds degrees from the University of Rhode Island and the University of North Carolina. His sales efforts have helped PRN's brand evolve into an iconic part of motorsports culture.
"Gerry's growth in this job has been unparalleled," Performance Racing Network President Doug Rice said. "He's a great manager of people, he understands the business environment extremely well and he's able to take that knowledge and apply it. He's unmatched at his profession. At a time when many other segments of the sports world have been trending downward, Gerry has kept us on an upward trend."
Horn served as director of sponsorship for the Charlotte Hornets from 1992-2000 before moving into the racing world.
"Although this is a singular recognition, it doesn't happen without the support, work ethic and creativity of the entire Performance Racing Network family," Horn said. "I'm so blessed to be around a group of people who truly care for each other and strive for excellence every single day. It is a tremendous honor to be affiliated with an iconic part of racing's broadcast media."
