CONCORD, N.C. -- NASCAR announced that the Dash 4 Cash program will return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2017 with a new format.
Gone are heat races, which determined the four eligible drivers for the $100,000 bonus from title sponsor Xfinity. In their place, NASCAR will use the two highest-finishing Xfinity points-eligible drivers from the first two stages of the race to determine Dash 4 Cash competitors.
The two highest-finishing drivers in Stage One will not have their finishing position counted in the second stage of the race, making room for the next two competitors eligible for the bonus. The four Dash 4 Cash eligible drivers will battle it out in the final stage of the race for $100,000.
NASCAR officials also announced that Phoenix International Raceway will replace Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the Dash 4 Cash schedule. Bristol Motor Speedway, Dover International Speedway, and Richmond International Raceway will host the remaining three Dash 4 Cash races.
