It’s that wonderful time of year in NASCAR.  Everyone came back from the holidays refreshed, recharged and ready to head into 38 weeks of racing.

The air is filled with optimism.  No one has wrecked out of race yet, blown a pit stop or gotten busted for speeding.  And, just about everyone feels like they have a shot at making the playoffs.

We don’t have a Media Tour anymore, so we don’t get a count of how many times the word “excited” can be used in a three-day span…yet, you know it’s floating around out there.

We’re less than a month from the start of the Cup season and no one is mad at anyone else yet.  But, with the season opening at Bowman-Gray Stadium, the peace won’t last long.

Yep, it’s all rainbows and unicorns right now, and isn’t that the way it’s supposed to be in January?
