I don’t think any of us know exactly what to expect from the Clash at Bowman Gray. The track certainly has a reputation; but will it live up to its Madhouse moniker? That remains to be seen.
Most folks who will watch or listen to this week’s race have never seen a race at Bowman Gray. But, I hope they don’t have too high of hopes for what they think they’re going to see because of the “legendary” name of the facility.
I expect what we’re going to see is pretty similar to what we saw at the Los Angeles Coliseum the last few years. After all, it’s another very short, flat track inside a football stadium. Will see the kind of fights Bowman-Gray is famous for? I’d be surprised. Maybe a little pushing and shoving, but that will be it.
What we will see is cars on the track. The kickoff to the 2025 NASCAR Cup season. And, no matter how it turns out, it will be better than what we got from the Clash the last few years it was run in Daytona.
